The world today marks International Mother Language Day (February 21), a day declared an International Day by UNESCO in 1999. This day is celebrated all over the world with various activities aiming to preserve and promote mother languages.
Like many other countries in the world, our country is characterized as a multiethnic and multilingual state, namely various mother languages are spoken here. It is this linguistic coexistence that the Inspectorate for the Use of Languages aims to stimulate and assist, by implementing the Law on the Use of Languages in the country.
On behalf of the Inspectorate, we congratulate the citizens of the Republic of North Macedonia and all other peoples in the world on this great day.
